Traditional Green Bean Casserole (Holiday Meal Collection)
The holiday’s will be upon us before you know it. I am sure that you will want some recipes in advance to help you impress your guests. If you are living in the dorms. This is a great microwave or toaster oven item.
Let’s make a traditional green bean casserole.
1 each 12 oz package of frozen whole green beans
1 can of condensed mushroom soup (condensed golden onion or cream of chicken works well too)
6 oz can of Durkee fried onion (French’s Fried Onion or other brand will work well too)
1/2 cup milk
1/4 tsp ground black pepper
1/4 tsp salt
In a mixing bowl add mushroom soup, 3oz fried onion, black pepper, salt and milk.
Stir the mixture until the mushroom soup has blended with the milk
Place frozen green beans in a covered casserole dish
Pour mixture of soup and onions over the green beans and toss gently to coat the green beans
Bake at 350F for 35 min or until the green beans are tender and the mushroom soup mix is bubbling
Remove from oven and add the remaining fried onions on top of the bubbling green bean casserole
Return to oven for 5-10 min to toast the top of the casserole and brown the fried onions you just added
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh….. green bean casserole….its a fine tradition
