Southern Style Vinegar ColeSlaw


The Vinegar Slaw makes a great side dish to pulled pork bbq and fried fish in my opinion. It is served equally in different restaurants that I frequent. Here is my recipe…Let’s Make some Southern Style Vinegar Slaw!


½ head of shredded green cabbage

½ head of shredded red cabbage

2 whole shredded carrots

1/2 cup finely sliced green onions

¼ cup of apple cider vinegar

1 tsp ground dry mustard

1 tbsp sugar

¼ cup of olive oil

2 tsp celery salt

Kosher salt and fresh cracked pepper to taste

In a mixing bowl place the vinegar, dry mustard, sugar, olive oil, celery salt and green onion. Mix well to incorporate the sugar and mustard into the vinegar.

In a second bowl toss the carrot, and both types of cabbage.

Pour the dressing over the cabbage mix and taste. Use black pepper and kosher salt to bring the flavor of the slaw to your liking. Enjoy!
