Dog Training Bytes (Wheat treats for your Dog)
I am very proud of my product recipes and testing process for the dog and cat treats that I have created. 5th batch of Gosselin Gourmet Training Bytes and they are loved among my test crowd and so easy to make. If you are curious… I have made observation of the ingredients of many of the MAIN dog treat packages. I did my homework and looked at the best fit ingredient list for canines. This lead me to 5 iterations of treats. My goal was HEALTHY, TEMPTING, EASY TO BAKE treats and training aids that you could reproduce at home with cost effective nature in mind. Let’s Make some Chef Gosselin Gourmet Dog Training treats.
3 cups wheat flour
1 cup wheat bran
1 can low sodium cut green beans
1 – 1 1/2 cup milk
1 tsp dried Oregano
1 tbsp Dried Parsley (I like to add more …Parsley is a great breath freshener)
1 tbsp grated Parmesan cheese
Place green beans in blender or food processor with water from can, pulse to mash green beans
Place wheat flour and wheat bran in mixing bowl
Add Oregano, Parmesan Cheese, dried parsley to flour
Mix using dough hook on mixer to blend dry ingredients
Add green beans and liquid to flour mix.
Continue to mix on low with dough hook
Add milk as needed to make a nice dry dough that hold together well (dry is better as we will be baking these until they are totally rock solid)
Knead dough for 5 min
Remove from bowl and place on floured surface (I place on a floured wax paper)
Roll out until 1/8 – 1/4″ thick
Slice with pizza roller into 1″ x 1″ diamonds
Place diamonds on parchment paper on properly sized baking sheets
Bake the cut treats in pre heated over 300F until dried so hard that they will no longer flex when handled
Remove and allow to cool
Place in sealed container and use as pet treats as needed for training or reward.
