Chef Gosselin Enchilada Sauce

Mom…. here you go. My recipe for enchilada sauce is all yours to prepare. I think you should make a few for me upon my arrival this September.

Let’s make Enchilada Sauce…. my style….its simple and tastey.

8 oz can tomato sauce

1/4 cup canola oil

2 tbsp flour

3 tbsp chili powder

1 cup chicken broth

2 tsp ground cumin

1 tsp minced garlic

1/2 tsp onion powder

1/4 tsp salt

1/8 tsp ground black pepper

Place oil in small sauce pan and heat on medium for 4 min

Add chili powder and stir until oil is turning red

Add flour and continue heating until the oil starts to turn a dark red almost brownish color

Add the rest of the ingredients and stir until fully blended

Allow the sauce to thicken with constant stirring

Remove from heat and allow to cool

Place in sealable container and refrigerate until used. Will remain fresh for about 5-7 days.

Mom…I hope this makes life easier. I never buy Enchilada Sauce…. I just make it.
