Choose My Plate Balsamic Salad Dressing
Choose My Plate is my trade name for the healthy eating plan for weight loss recipes. I have been laxed at continuing an effort in this area of the recipe blog but Pamela’s recent questions have motivated me to continue.
I am offering a very nice Balsamic Vinaigrette dressing to make this the first salad dressing for the Choose My Plate menu. Let’s Make a fine vinaigrette to open the menu.
NOTE: This is a poor menu item if you are on a tight diabetic, sugar regulated meal plan. Balsamic vinegar is made with a high sugar grape and has too many carbs.
1/2 cup extra-virgin olive oil
1/4 cup chopped shallot
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/4 tsp dried Oregano
1/8 tsp dried onion
1/8 tsp minced garlic
1/8 tsp dried crushed thyme
1/8 tsp dried basil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon freshly ground pepper
Add all ingredients to the food processor or blender and blend on high until a smooth uniform dressing is formed. Store in a closed container. This will last about 5 days refrigerated.
