Choose My Plate….Diet and Diabetic Food Choice
I have decided on behalf of a few pals and associates and a best friend that has passed away due to a life long diabetic battle to change up my blog for a time and turn my efforts towards the personal study of meal items to help the obese (me included) and the diabetic eater. I have requested some help from other great home cooks and bakers to continue posting in my normal fashion of wonderful “who cares about calorie” style. The title I will post under for the weight loss and diabetic topics will be called “Choose My Plate” after the guidelines that were posted by the US Department of Agriculture’s study.
Choose My Plate will explore a holistic menu preparation to create a tasty and healthy meal plate that you will want to eat. As your guide to this adventure….I promise to lower my use of “DIET” in my writing. Rather I will talk about the portion that satisfies my inner monster and how I made alterations to the plate to make certain food groups prominent and other less important in the meal. I also promise that we will eat good. Let’s Make Choose My Plate a new Life Style.
I call upon past great chefs like Graham Kerr, who revolutionized the food tv industry along with other rock stars of cooking from the 70’s-80’s. The Diet Center and early adapter of how to improve your life through food, Sybil Ferguson (founder of the Diet Center) is a legend and I will call her my mentor for this effort. Her people opened the doorway for Jenny Craig, Nutrisystem and many more to help thousands of people to a better health. I will call upon her early effort to assist my skills.
If there is a tool that I can use as research and share…I will try to find it and bring it forward. So… let the playground open for any person to join in on this effort. I invite everyone interested.
