Tomato Soup

We are having a cold weather spell this weekend. Lunch will be a nice grilled cheese sandwich on some of my fresh baked baguette and a Chef Gosselin Tomato Soup. Nothing like a great cheese sandwich and tomato soup combo so much so that a whole restaurant chain was formed on the concept called Tom+Chee…they do make some great grilled cheese combos and I have high confidence in my personal recipe. Let’s make some Tomato Soup.

1 can (15oz) good quality tomato sauce (I would tell you I use Hunts brand but I am not sponsored by them)

1/2 tsp dried oregano

1/4 tsp  dried or fresh basil

1 tsp sugar

1/8 tsp black pepper

1/8 tsp salt

1/4 tsp minced garlic

1 oz heavy cream (optional)

Place all ingredients into a small sauce pan. Heat on Med/Lo until a  low rumbling boil begins reduce heat and simmer with regular stirring. Taste and adjust sweet or salt to your taste. If you are on a sugar or salt substituted eats plan you may use any of the sweetener additives, I suggest that you do not add any sweetener until you are at the taste stage. Some sweeteners react poorly to the heat of cooking but will do fine if added before serving.

This is a great easy to fix and quick meal option. It is fresh and tasty to the point that you will impress yourself.
