Sauteed Mushrooms

There are those moments when a nice mushroom side dish or perhaps a tasty steak and mushroom dish is just the right bite. I like the aroma and texture of the mushroom on my steak and in casseroles. Let’s make a nice sauteed mushroom side dish that you can use for many types of meals

pound white or brown mushrooms ( I like a cremini)

1 tbsp soy sauce

2 tbsp olive oil

2 tbsp butter

¼ cup white wine

1/4 tsp dried thyme

2 cloves garlic minced

Clean and slice mushrooms. The best cleaning method is to just wipe them with a paper towel. I slice my mushrooms into approximately 1/2″ sized pieces.
Add butter and oil to a pan and heat over medium-high heat
Place cleaned mushrooms in a mixing box and add the soy sauce
Use a large cooking spoon to toss the mushrooms & soy sauce
Add the mushrooms to the hot oil and butter pan. Toss in the oil to get the mushroom coated.
Allow the mushrooms to brown on one side for about 4-5 minutes.
Continue cooking an additional 3-4 minutes stirring occasionally until cooked.
Season with salt & pepper to taste.

This is a great steak topper or side dish for a red meat meal. I love a nice sauteed mushroom.
Burgers for lunch in the Chef’s house. Will make some sauteed mushrooms for the burgers. Oh yeah!
